Via l’Inverno has 5 hectares of vineyards under management.
The Poggio a Rofani vineyard covers just over one hectare and was planted in 1988 and contains only Sangiovese vines. The vineyard is between 500 and 550 meters in altitude and is south west facing benefitting from the sun all day. The vineyard has about 1700 plants per hectare.
In 2014, another four hectars were added from Lo Spicchio which is a property just north of Radda. The Sangiovese vineyards were planted in 2006 and have more than 3000 plants per hectare.
Over the last two years, most of the vineyards have been fenced in to protect the vines and grapes from the many deer and wild boar in the area. All vineyards are treated with organic products only – and are home to many bird nests during the summer months.
